About GIFYO
GIFYO exists to support Africa’s teeming youths (her greatest resource and strategic advantage) to thrive in an ever competitive world.
It all began in 2014 with the unprecedented outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease which devastated 3 West African countries – Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
The outbreak fractured the already fragile socio-economic and health systems of these countries. The youths of the affected countries suffered significant loss of lives and lack of access to resources.
Through the the African Union funded ASEOWA program, GIFYO founder Dr Okoro Aja Nwenyi (Epidemiologist) served as a medical responder during the Ebola crisis where he witnessed firsthand the heroic spirit of the youths who stood up to the Ebola challenge in spite of the devastation that enveloped their local communities.
This life-changing experience led to the founding of GIFYO in 2016.
